SHIFT and SOAR, Check My Instagram!
Everyone who ever put their feet on the shoes of activism will understand what I am trying to say now. After a long struggle seeing the rights violations and years of trying to change the situation, stress has been my closest friend. When it comes to my leadership, I experience some crisis that almost tear me down. People say working with youth is amazing, which is I agree. But no one tell me that working with youth needs a lot of patience, understanding and pain.
Not going to lie, whether you are working with youth or adult, indigenous or non-indigenous, grassroots communities or government offices, vision always costs you great sacrifice. And I thought that I was not going to be able to make it through because my youthful blood often told me to run from my place and let go of my responsibility.
Well, that’s a past story. Somehow, today I am here writing to you another reason to keep going. Lately besides working on my mental health care, I keep thinking how to make a wider impact through my platform. It has been nine months since the pandemic and all these months I have been staying at home, working at home, advocating from home, trying to keep the movement from home. This new normal is a bit weird for someone who always travel to conference or meeting every month. Yet it gives me an idea.
If you follow me on social media especially Instagram, you will notice that I upload different things on my feed. Yes, I start creating ‘tips, trick and motivation’ page for women and young adult in the marketplace. My desire to share what is in my head and heart is so big that I even can sit in front of my laptop for 6 hours to work on the content and design (in Bahasa).
I really hope by shifting my direction on social media, I can soar higher.
